BALANCE THROUGH SIMPLICITY GUEST POSTING GUIDELINES

Thank you for your interest in submitting a guest post to my website. I welcome a fresh perspective and new ideas but am very selective about the guest posts I accept on my site.

Here are some guidelines to help you submit a guest post that’s more likely to be accepted!

WHAT TYPE OF CONTENT DO I PUBLISH?

My site is about simple and intentional living and my readers like to learn about decluttering, productivity, self-care, mindset, the minimalist lifestyle and living a life on purpose, not on autopilot. I have hundreds of articles on the blog which cover different aspects of decluttering and simplifying life but I’m open to guest articles that dive deeper into any of these subjects.

If you’d like to submit a guest post, please browse my blog to see the type of content that I post. If you have particular experience or knowledge in a topic that I don’t specialise in, haven’t already covered or that you could build more on, but that still fits with the ethos of my site, this would be a great starting point for a guest post submission.

Please note that I only publish blog posts that are relevant, high quality and well written.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Here are some general guidelines to consider when submitting a guest post:

  • Word count should be a minimum of 1000 words
  • Your guest post should be an original piece of work not published anywhere else, including on your own blog
  • Please carry out keyword research and ensure your post is optimised for SEO
  • Use H1, H2, H3 headings as appropriate
  • Text should be easy to read and broken down into relevant headings, subheadings and paragraphs. Please use bullet points to make your message clear and simple for readers
  • Please check your grammar, punctuation and spelling several times before submission
  • Please cite references for any statistics or quotes that you include
  • You may send images to go alongside your post but I will only use them with discretion. Otherwise I will source relevant images myself
  • Please ensure all links in the text are clearly marked
  • Please include one link to a previously published post on the Balance Through Simplicity blog
  • You may link back to your blog or social media channels but please ensure it reads naturally as part of the flow of the text and is not instrusive
  • Please include a headshot and short author bio
  • Guest posts should be submitted as a Word document or Google doc

IMPORTANT – Do not send your guest post until you have submitted your guest post pitch first. Please see below for how to do this.
